KB’s 2025 journal entry

It’s been an amazing year here at KB, packed full of some awesome performing opportunities and we cannot wait to see what 2026 has in store for us. Take a look at our KB journal to see some of what we’ve been up to over the past 12 months!

Pages 2&3: We had the opportunity to perform with the amazing Ezra Collective at the BRIT awards! You can check out our blog post from that special day just here!

Pages 4&5: We played another 2 gigs with Ezra Collective, both the BBC6 music festival in Manchester and our second time at Glastonbury with them, on the Other Stage! What an incredible experience this was and so cool to see how far they’ve come – especially knowing that we’ve been a small part of their journey.

Page 6: Ronnie Scott’s hosted a Summer street party and our juniors were lucky enough to be invited to perform for the crowds! We were introduced by growing TikTok icon, DJ AG, and our younger ones played their hearts out for the streets of Soho to enjoy. It was lovely to see them perform at such an iconic location – here’s to many more exciting opportunities over the coming year.

Page 7: Our 25th Senior Summer School “Dance your way home” took place this year, our summer showcase on The Southbank Centre’s Clore Ballroom Floor bringing down the house. Everyone was up on their feet dancing along and the vibes in the room hit an all time high when Candy came on!

Page 8 : For the first time ever, Kinetika Bloco was invited to perform at the We Out Here festival as part of their Family Parade and we had a brilliant time. The sun was out, it was food stalls galore and we even got to catch some of Kokoroko’s set! It was definitely a day to be remembered, and we hope to be seeing the festival again in the near future.

Page 9 : Like every year of recent, we played at Notting Hill Carnival, one of our favourite gigs of the year! We can’t until the warm weather comes back and we’re out on the streets playing again for Carnival 2026!

Page 10&11 : November brought us 2 days entirely dedicated to the celebration of 25 years of KB! Our exhibition, with archival photos curated by Roisin Atkin-Dykes, was a day filled with love and Penda Studios came alive with Bloco members past and present, family and friends of the Bloco family to look back on the years of Bloco since its beginnings. Towards the end of the month, we performed as part of London Jazz Festival where we had alumni and old Bloco friends join us on stage for a show-stopping performance!

“It’s beautiful that Kinetika has been going for 25 years and I’m blessed to have been part of it and grateful for what it’s done for my life. Truly a life changing organisation.”

Pages 12&13: Our annual Leadership Programme took place in October half-term and we had alumni and industry professionals come in to give our future leaders a range of talks and workshops to help prepare them for their futures. Our Youth Board put together our Christmas party “KB’s cosy Xmas” to send the year off in the best way, it’s always a good time when we get everyone together to celebrate all that we’ve achieved and they did a great job of organising the evening!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us this year, it does not go unnoticed. Please do check out our fundraiser we’ve got going on at the moment if you haven’t already had a chance. On Saturday 17th January, a group of us are doing a 12mile walk to raise money to help us continue going for another strong 25 years! We look forward to even bigger and better things this coming year.

Love from all the team at KB❤️
